Wine of the Week
12th August 2010
Pinot Noir 2007, Villa du Clos, Vin de Pays de Méditerranean, France
Special offer £8 per bottle (list price normally £9 per bottle)
This evokes aromas of fresh herbs like Thyme and Rosemary, combined with cherries and blueberries. On the palate these fruit characteristics follow. It's not like a Burgundy exactly, but you cannot miss the typical silky texture of Pinot Noir and the sweet opulence of this grape variety. This wine is like driving through a sweltering St Tropez in the comfort of your car with the benefit of air-conditioning!
The recipe of the week to match this wine is Grilled marinated lamb chops with garlic lemon butter balls - amazing, had this for lunch today!
