Urban Malbec 2009, Bodegas O Fournier
Fournier's ambition is to become one of the iconic wineries in Argentina, an objective that he is on track to becoming very soon. The Urban range represent his entry level in the UK. This old vine Malbec is one of the best I have tasted recently and I believe offers excellent value at this price. There is a level of freshness about this wine that I like, perhaps a reflection of the terroir of the Uco Valley, a sub-region of Mendoza which is where these grapes are grown.
